If you click on any sdber's you can choose to add them to your ignore list. For example, if we assume that food_stamp is annoying (just an assumption:wink:), then you can do this:

Then when you read a post where that particular sdber has posted you see this:

That's not good enough. The ignore list should allow us to NOT see that poster all together.

Let's illustrate how this could have solved the problem.

If we look in the general forum now, we can see the posters. I saw this at the moment of posting:

I have decided for some weird reason to classify "algiddees" as a spammer and put him on my ignore list. Guess what I saw then? The same screen. With the only difference that when I click on his post, I get this:

That is NOT the way it should be, I should have seen the board without this sdber all together, and if the ignore list functionality is improved, it would solve the flooding issue, from every one's perspective, without the censorship issue, without defining who is the spammer and who isn't, and without affecting the number of subscribers, etc etc.

The solution is technical. My understanding is that this forum in based on PHP/Mysql language. You or someone in the moderation team with some knowledge about this AND some spare time could solve the issue and get it over with.

What I meant is that the main page should show the posts made by everyone except those who are in the ignore list. The code should just exclude posters in the ignore list when retrieving the posts from the database. The current setup retrieves all posts, and the ignore list comes into effect only when you click on a post made by someone in the ignore list. At that time you receive a message that the member is in the ignore list and the content won't display or something to that effect.

So, if you implement this suggestion and I have you, for example, in the ignore list :p, if the public display shows:
SDB is the best thing in the world, by Muaz
Alhilal is a winner (yeah right), by scorpius
Attention SDBers, by Muaz
No Muaz, Civil engineering is the best thing ever, by scorpius
I don't like foxy, by Paragon
I have the right to ignore you people, by Muaz
I really don't like foxy, by Paragon

I would see:
Alhilal is a winner (yeah right), by scorpius
