I do not know of any muslim who recognizes other religions. So it's typical for twisted mind loony like you to say Southerners have no religion.

Hi Somali... In the Middle of Sudan people speak arabic as a mother tongue.. in the west of the country some speak Arabic as first language and some as second language in the east is the same as well... in the south ppl speak arabic as second or third language... and also the arabic used in the south of the country is not a proper arabic... kind of broken arabic with wrong grammer and it is called Juba arabic. Now i have a question to you... why people in Somalia dont speak Arabic even the "Presdent" and Somalia is in the Arab league??.

Some of you have asked why people of Somalia don't speak Arabic since Somalia is a member of the Arab league.

The reason that Somalia became a member of the Arab league is due to the former dictator that ruled the country who had his agenda back than. His plan was to invade Ethiopia and get help from the Arab countries which he succeeded it first. Ever since than Somalia was a member of the Arab league, because of political reasons.

Personally I don't think that Somalia became a member of the Arab league because of race or religion but a political one.

To be honest Somalis don't sea them selves as Arabs but as Somalis.

Somalis are 100% Muslims but they never claim to be Arabs.
Islam is the second largest religion in the world, and Arabs make less than 14% the rest are not Arabs. Look at countries like Pakistan, Indonesia and Bangladesh; Iran; Malaysia, and Nigeria, Turkey they are Muslims predominantly and they are not Arabs.

If you ask Somalis whether they are Arabs they would say that they are not.
