View Full Version : Sudan Briefs Security Council Members on Chadian Aggression

Sudan has informed the envoys of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council in Khartoum about the air strikes carried by Chadian military airplanes on Friday.

In a meeting held at the premises of the ministry, Sudanese foreign ministry informed the ambassadors of China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, and United States, of the latest developments in the ground following two aerial attacks by Chadian aircrafts, the official SUNA reported Friday.

The meeting also was attended by representatives of the United Nations, African Union, Arab League and the Libyan ambassador.
Ali Yousef, the Acting Undersecretary of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, who met with the envoys, said Thursday evening that he told them that Chad assault is a serious threat to peace and security in the region.
The Sudanese foreign ministry described also the air strikes as act of war.
Also, Sudan summoned on Friday the Chadian ambassador to Khartoum to protest over the "flagrant violation of Sudanese sovereignty and territorial integrity."
