I believe that this holiday started by the kufar and it's their holiday. I can't understand how most muslim people today observe it. I don't see No other person observing any of our Holidays! Plus all ulamas agrey that Muslims shouldnt have any part in any of the Kufar Holidays.

are you saying Muslim's should not have any part of this holiday? do you believe it is a good idea to acknowledge the love between a couple at all in any formal ways?

Not again....:lool: :lool: :lool: :lool: Must we go throught these "fatwas" every time there is an occasion:roll: :roll: beside, it isn't a religion celebration no more...and people think of as a celebration of "love"... and personally I think what is in your heart is what counts...

Jeff, I like your topic...and I will come back to you later ;) with an answer:)of course that is after I see your:p

I don;t know if you have little ones at home Jeff,but the excitement of my nephwes and nieces of this day is priceless. Coming home from school bags full of liltle valentine cards and hershy kisses and the guess who likes me at school aunty faces what i be missing.:tears:

But i like to give than to receive.

afriend... i cant wait to hear your 'heart' on this matter, and i too have way too much to share on the matter - the topic of love and relationships is one very special to me for sure!

Misteer - you brought a view i hadn't considered, but i must say i really like the thought - children experiencing something so precious in such an innocent way - how beautiful! there is nothing quite as sweet as the innocence of childhood. did you give cards when you were in grade school? we did, and it was just like you describe - we would get a box of cheap valentines cards - one for everyone in class... boys and girls. then we would hand them out in a flurry of excitement, but always there was someone that got 'hers' first... in grade one it was "tiffany' - i was so smitten i think i still have a crush on her!

why the connection between chocolate and love? who knows, but it works for me, seams women have some deep bond with chocolate, maybe something 'spiritual' about it :lool: (jk) all i know is that chocolate and ROMANCE are made to go together:oops

i hope to hear many ideas and expressions of love in this post - they always warm my heart:lool:

yes... i am laying in bed now, and there is crib about 20 feet from my bed (other side of room) with a 23 month old in it... she is singing "daaaddeeeee" to herself absently as i type, except she doesnt say her consonents, so it sounds like "aaaaaaaaaa-eeeeeeeeee" instead of ddaaaaddddyyyy.... and the four year old is laying beside me sleeping:)

i love children, family etc... oh ya, i love laptops too... i like laying in bed and typing... i get so sappy!:roll::o

1) Not really. I think it is ridiculous that we only celebrate love ONCE a year. It should be everyday!!
2) Doesn't matter. It's the idea that counts :lv::lv:
3) Myself :D:D:D
4) Neither is better. Love is not giving and receiving. It's sharing :roll:
5) Not really. I am more of the "let's cut to the chase" type of girl :lool::lool::lool::lool:

I don't think theres a guy alive who wouldn't appreciate your sentiment or gesture:love: and cut to the chase attitude! there's so many ways rto express love, but is there any quite the same as the giving of oneself???:wink:

if a man thinks his woman lacks the desire or heart for romance, i would suggest maybe he needs to learn how to make it bloomin her... i have yet to meet the person who deep down does not desire all the best fruits of love and romance:wink::wink:

would it be safe to say a woman is never 'alone' as long as she has chocolate?

Of course!! :lool::lool::lool:

Reasons why choc is better:
1) It's always there
2) Never complains or cheats
3) Comes in varieties <---- IMPORTANT :D:D
4) If you do not like the taste, you can always try another one :p
5) Easy to get it

And well last but not least, it actually gives you the feeling of being in love because it releases some chemicals similar to the ones released by the brain when being in love :lv::lv::lv:

Love making was started by Kufar you will be wise to stay away from it(unless you call adam and eve, who rebelled against God Muslims) infact the internet and the computer was the ideas of the kufar you should stay away from it all together, hay what about the engeen/cars/airplains etc etc etc etc:lool: :lool: :lool: If you where to be true to your believe you will soon be in the stone age buddy:p Allah has allowed Kufar to exist for your own benefit you should be:jump: unless ofcourse Allah does not know what he does!
