Welcome to the new Sudan.Net Discussion Board (SDB) - :flag:

You will find many improvements from the old SDB. It empowers the members with more features to manage and read posts, communicate with others, play a role in keeping this place a safe and friendly community forum.

We hope this forum will provide members with a convenient place to exchanges ideas, discuss politics, sports, cultural issues, entertainment, education etc., As well as a helpful resource to the many Sudanese and non-Sudanese around the world to come to Sudan's largest discussion board on the internet and to learn more about Sudan and its people.

A special thanks goes to the moderators for their assistance in testing, especially afriend and alshaygee, and Murtada Abdallah and Safa Mahmoud for their assistance in translating some of the Arabic terms.

Mabrouk again Muaz

We are still discovering the new features of the board.
A first comment though: what is it with this extra huge font some people are using? Is this a glitch or do you have this much resources to offer? :)

Ok, before I submitted my reply, I noticed it is the font of my signature from the old board. I guess this needs to be fixed.

All the best

Avatars and Profiles pictures are resized. The maximum image you can upload is 100KB, after that they are resized, to fit the specs listed below.

The Limit on the Avatar pictures is only 5 kb and the profile picture is 20 kb. to conserve on bandwidth from our side and to enable users to view and browse messages faster since they do not have to download larger images when viewing posts.

Does that mean we can't post in few words like: Yes and No

And Muaz why do I have your avatar? Where did mine go?

Does that mean we can't post in few words like: Yes and No

And Muaz why do I have your avatar? Where did mine go?

Yes the minimum character of 20 was set to avoid people using the discussion for yes and no etc., as it tends to clutter the discussion board, and people trying to increase their message post count

As for the Avatar... you are the first to report an issue.. I guess its that special bond.. my Avatar just hates me and it wants to find a new home with you... I will copy your old avatar and replace it or you can do it yourself, by going into the User CP.

CELEBRATE BLACK/AFRICAN HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATIONS

Fantastic website. Now just look how beautiful it is and with so much technological upgrading.

Yet, one remembers the old African-American/Afro-Caribbean saying, "A NEW BROOM SWEEPS CLEAN, BUT THE OLD BROOM KNOWS THE CORNER"

One thing is certain, discussions on Sudan.net forum has been among the most thrilling, informative and exciting anywhere WHEN IT COMES TO DISCUSSING ISSUES DEALING WITH SUDAN AND THE SUDANIC DIASPORA (OF AMERICA'S 300 MILLION PEOPLE A LARGE PORTION ARE OF MANDING-CUSH (NIGER-KORDOFANIAN) ORIGINS.

A BLACK MANDING-CUSHITE RENAISSANCE

Who are 'Manding-Cushites'?

They are the African people whose first civilization began in the South-Western Sahara in the region from Dafur to Senegal and southward to Ghana and Nigeria. That civilization existed during the 'WET PHASE' of the Sahara when the entire region was fertile and the very first towns, cities and civilizations were began by Africans. The first use of pottery. The first use of boats. The first building in stone. The first mummification. The first use of the boomerang, arrow, atlatl (spear thrower) was in the Sahara.

The first Cushites originated from the Manding-Cush agricultural/horticultural complex of the Sahara over 20,000 years ago. About 15,000 years ago, the LEGENDARY GOD-KING CALLED 'TYRUS AFRIKU' established the grand empire all over the Sahara from Senegal to India. He planted the 'red, black and green' flag all over the land - all the way to India. See, "Susu Economics: The History of Pan-African Trade, Commerce, Money and Wealth," pub. by http://www.AuthorHouse.com see also http://blackafricanworldhistory.forumsland.com http://sexyloveromancepoems.blogstream.com

HERE ARE EXAMPLES OF MANDING-CUSH OF PREHISTORIC MEXICO WHO ORIGINATED IN THE SAHARA OVER 5,000 YEARS AGO.

One of the great civilizations that has a direct connection to Manding-Cush civilization is that ancient Olmec civilization of Mexico. Olmecs are known as Manding-Shi (their descendants in Mexico today are called Mandinga and are a mixed people of American Indian and African blood and features). The Olmecs established a strong culture in the Veracruz as early as 3113 BC. when 'Meci' or Emperor Ci, sailed from THE GHANA/NIGERIA region in 12 ships filled with people and provisions. Meci ( or Ci) ESTABLISHED A KINGDOM IN THE VERACRUZ REGION OF MEXICO.

EGYPT WAS NOT THE FIRST CIVILIZATION IN AFRICA

That is a fact. Egypt was covered in swampland and marshes for a long time. The first African civilizations are today covered in millions of tons of Sahara sand, but they were the great technological civilizations of the Sahara. They made a last stand at the Sahara Crescent highlands after the Sahara became dry and deserts blew sand over the area. The people of these great cultures migrated to Egypt, North Africa, West Africa, the Americas, India, SE Asia -- AND THERE IS SOME EVIDENCE THAT ONE GROUP THE 'ANU' MAY HAVE MIGRATED AS FAR AS JAPAN ABOUT 10,000 YEARS AGO. The Anu were Negroes related to the Egyptians, but they were rivals of the Egyptians, JUST AS THE PEOPLE OF DAFUR WERE ALSO RIVALS OF THE EGYPTIANS AND BUILT A CIVILIZATION BEFORE EGYPT EXISTED.

Dear Habash,

Added the option where a user can set his page view defaults. If you goto:

User CP => Edit Options => Scroll down to the Thread Display Settings, then Number of Posts to Display.

There you can change the default view for # of posts for your username to:

5, 10, 20, 30 or 40 per page.

Hope that helps :-)

Dear Muaz

Many congratulations.

That's a real great effort, and is very much appreciated. The board now looks stylish than anytime before, and back to its youth.
Guess I just needed sometime to get used to it, and not to be blamed as we' ve been, and still, connected firmly to the old board with lots and lots of memories .

If I may ask; how long will the old board stay for?
Hope there isn't a fixed date for it's burial. :-?

Another observation; when replying with a quote, I thought it might be much better if the colour of the qouted space could be different from that of the banner above, that's the grey colour. I rememebr it was white in the old board, and was very much disinguished from the rest of the post's frames.
Anyhow, that has little effect and doesn't really the beauty of the new layout.

Thanks again brother.

Dear Alfanjary,

Thanks for the suggestion regarding the Quote Color. I will have it modified slightly to differentiate it from the poster header.

As for the old SDB, it will be online for atleast for 1 year to come, depending on how much hit or use other members have, I may keep it indefinately, depending on the hits it gets. No Final decision has been made.

Hello muaz
I could never skip this moment without commending you in this tremendous effort to pump the blood over our dearest old board
And I think its working good except for some small things that you encounters sometimes such as: when you sign in and try to write a new post ,after you finish writing and try to submit it you find out that you are no longer logged in   and that’s very disturbing because you lose all your thought and data, then you feel like you don't want to rewrite again, also even if you tried to copy it before you send it,it won’t allow you to .
That’s pretty much it.
Thank you again and wish you all the sucess and luck in life.
