Why does he has to change his name to Hakim Mansour Ellis? Will Islam accepted him as a Muslim with his orignal name? Changing name to become a Muslim is a requriment of Isalm and Quran?

Yes, islam is blong to arabs, hence you must have an arab name to be a muslim.

To answer your question, one who converts to Islam does not have to change his/her name. They only change if their name has anything agaist Islam. In this case I don't see anything wrong with his original name, but most converts like to change their name because they feel like they fully convert their lives I guess. I hope I've answered your question.

You do not have to have an Arab name and you do not have to be an Arab to be muslim, I don't consider myself an Arab, but at the same time I am a muslim!!!
Changing name to become a Muslim is a requriment of Isalm and Quran?
Its not a requirment. My name isn't a muslim name but the relgion I choose is Islam. A person can change his/her relgion without changing his name. Also a lot of arab names got nothing to do with Islam like Omar, khalid, ali, all these names are pre-islamic names.

Is that from Quran or a human precondition?

Once a fool always a fool....if you would have read the article it CLEARLY stated that name changing is NOT a requierment.....the same way you did not have to change your name to Ch--p eventhough you are one:jump:
MACON, Georgia (AP) -- Mayor Jack Ellis has converted to Islam and is working to change his legal name to Hakim Mansour Ellis.
Ellis, 61, a Macon native who was raised Christian, said he became a Sunni Muslim during a December ceremony in the west African nation of Senegal.
Ellis said he has studied the Quran for years and that his new religion was practiced by his ancestors before they were brought to North America as slaves.
"Why does one become a Christian?" Ellis said Thursday. "You do it because it feels right. ... To me it's no big deal. But people like to know what you believe in."
Name-changing by converts is a practice that is considered commendable, though it is typically not required.
Ellis said he would keep his last name at the request of two daughters.
Ellis, whose mayoral term expires this year, said he hasn't calculated how his religious conversion might affect him politically. He said he is proud to live in a country founded on religious freedom.
"If anybody wants to know about Islam, I can hold an intelligent conversation," Ellis said. "What I've found is how little we know about the religion."

Commendable by whom?
You all should just let it go, why do you care if he converted? How much joy will it bring to your life if someone answered what would happen to him if he left Islam or change his name while practicing Islam. Let the man follow what he wants to follow. He is not from Sudan nor care about Sudanese. Worry about your purpose in this life if you have non just jump off a building and let others be. It's simple as that

True to that. After all faith is a personal matter.
