Somalis speak somali not swahili or arabic.

Somalis are homogeneous people.

The country is called somalia the peaople are called somali and the languege is somali.

But at the same time Somalis are not united due to the civil war in the 90's and many other reasons.

Somebody told me that Somalia is in the mess right now, don't let islamic court to turn your country to medieval age.

Well this forum is much better than that one of Somalinet.

Curiuseone asked me if somalis write the latin scribt or the arabic scribt.
Well somalis use the latin scribt just like the english. But the somali languege and the arabic are simillar in many ways.

Most somalis can write and read arabic but they like their mother tongue more.

Salam brother, the Somali language is very similiar to the Swahili language, regarding the script issue, it is one of the few African language that no one decided to create either script or grammar for it at all. As Somalia was a very poor country and it had NIL intellectuals and educated people, no one took the issue serious, as people never ever engaged in reading or writibg, only the minority who were send to Sudan, Egypt, Germany etc.

As it is now, Somalis reside mainly in the West, hence, some benefitiores in England decided to use the KLatin Alphpets to write that language, but it is not official yet.

I feel sorry for most of the Somali people, specxially the ones who reside here in the UK, they try hard but not hard enough.

Isn't Somalia an Arab country???

Well this is a good question and it does need a good answer, which I do not hold, Personaly, I do not think Somalia is an Arab country, I remember they always wanted to join the Arab leauge but they were always refused entries! And that did not disadvantaged them, as the Arab leauge, is a dummy leauge anyhow?
The only common thing betwen Arabs and Somalis, is they are both Savages.
