The Village project in Uganda started late 2006. It presumably aims at freeing the Ugandan farmers from poverty.
The plot is such that each farmer is given a pig in return for his last name. He/ she should carry the new name Hornsleth. If the pigs reproduce, then the new owner should also sell his name to Hornsleth. Kristian von Hornsleth also plans to change the name of the village in the future.
Hornsleth is a rich Danish conceptual artist who thinks that 50 years of third world aid were not able to eliminate poverty in Africa, but he can. To him, this is a business transaction. The farmers were paid to pause for the below photographs. In their hands, they hold their new IDs - Hornsleth as their last name.

I was confused when I saw the photographs of the innocent looking farmers lining all the walls of the hotel lobby. When I asked what was this, they passed over a book. The book had all the photographs AGAIN and hornsleth paintings and the explanation of the project. I was frustrated, and kept on reading just to find out what does Hornsleth get out of this ? I found no convincing answer!
All I could think was .. this is a pathetic new coloniser!
