I remember a while back the rules and regulations used to prohibit the promotion of other websites in sdb - is that still the case or was that constraint lifted with the rules revision?

Tell you the truth I personally don't like SOL or people who post links to it..I also think it doesn't make sense to use the sdb as a tool to advertise for topics in other boards...that kinda triggered this inquiry but personal feelings aside....what's the difference between someone who constantly posts SOL links and another who post Nike links? I prefer Nike :)

Different discussion boards deal with this problem in different ways....some boards require the poster to post an opinion before posting a URL ...this will eventually result in the minimization of random URL posting and the encouragement of fruitful discussions...kinda similar to putting a minimum requirement for characters on any given post
